Campervan Facilities at the Dog & Partridge
If you are touring the Peak District, driving over the A628 Woodhead Pass
or exploring the Pennines near Penistone, the Dog & Partridge Country Inn is a convenient,
dog friendly place to stop over with your campervan or motorhome. Our countryside location at Flouch,
between Penistone, Sheffield and Holmfirth, makes us an ideal overnight pub stop with
great food, real ales and far-reaching moorland views.
We offer simple, informal campervan stopovers in our car park for self-sufficient vans
looking for a peaceful night’s rest and a hearty Yorkshire breakfast the next morning.
How to Book Your Campervan Stay
-
Check in at the bar: When you arrive, please come into the bar to let us know you are staying.
We will ask for your name and vehicle registration so we know who is on site overnight.
-
Book a table for food: We strongly recommend booking a table for lunch or an evening meal,
especially at weekends and busy periods. You can enjoy our pub classics, Sunday roasts and daily specials
before settling down for the night in your van.
-
Optional breakfast: If we have availability, you can also book in for breakfast the next morning
at £10 per person. Please ask at the bar when you check in.
-
Call ahead if you wish: To check availability before you travel, you can call us on
01226 763173.
Facilities for Campervans & Motorhomes
Our facilities are designed for self-contained campervans and motorhomes who have their own
on-board toilet and washing facilities.
-
Self-sufficient only: We do not have an outside loo, so you must be fully self-contained
and able to use your own facilities in the van.
-
Fresh water: There is a hose pipe available for filling your on-board tank.
The water comes from our bore hole, so we recommend boiling it before drinking.
-
Rubbish disposal: General waste bins are located around the car park for your bagged rubbish.
Please separate and dispose of your waste considerately.
-
Quiet rural setting: Our elevated position on the moors offers dark skies, fresh air and
a peaceful place to sleep after a day walking or driving in the Peak District.
Please note: we do not currently offer electric hook-up or grey/black waste disposal.
Our stopovers are best suited to campervans and motorhomes that are happy with a simple, low-key stay
in a pub car park with access to great food and drink.
House Rules for Campervan Guests
-
Pets on leads: Dogs are very welcome, but must be kept on a lead in and around the premises
and when walking nearby. Please clean up after your dog and use the bins provided.
-
Respect other guests: Please keep noise to a minimum late at night and early in the morning,
especially when starting engines or moving vehicles.
-
Stay on the car park: Please park in the areas indicated by our team and avoid blocking
access routes or other vehicles.
-
Leave no trace: Take care not to spill waste water or leave litter. We want to keep our
moorland surroundings clean for walkers, cyclists and other guests.
Perfect Base for Exploring the Peak District & Pennines
From the Dog & Partridge you are just a short drive from Langsett Reservoir,
Winscar Reservoir, the Trans Pennine Trail and a wide choice of walks and
cycle routes across the Pennines. Many campervan owners use us as a convenient stop on longer routes
between Manchester, Sheffield, Barnsley and the Peak District National Park.
Whether you are planning a one-night campervan stopover near Penistone, a
motorhome break in the Peak District or a longer tour of the Pennines, we would be happy
to welcome you for good food, a comfortable rest and stunning views from our doorstep.
